It was a truly inspirational evening as VOICES recognized three remarkable individuals – Alice Greenwald, Governor Tom Kean, and Congressman Lee Hamilton – who have made significant contributions in the aftermath of 9/11. Once again, Mike Greenberg, our longtime friend and emcee extraordinaire, hosted the evening. Broadway singer and actor Ali Ewoldt, accompanied by David Hancock Turner, performed a melody no one will forget!
VOICES 2023 Legacy Award was presented to Alice Greenwald, former President and CEO at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Alice’s tireless efforts over 16 years and overall vision in managing the museum’s programs, collections, exhibitions and educational initiatives have created a lasting legacy. Alice Greenwald’s remarks can be read here.
The Honorable Thomas H. Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton were presented with VOICES 2023 Leadership Award for their steadfast bipartisanship while working together as Chairs of the 9/11 Commission. Governor Kean and Lee Hamilton’s ongoing work to implement the Commission’s recommendations have resulted in sweeping intelligence reforms that have helped protect our nation from terrorism. Doug Hamilton accepted the award on behalf of his father. Governor Kean’s remarks can be read here.
