Autumn has arrived and we are looking forward to celebrating a Night of Champions at VOICES Always Remember Gala! Join us Thursday, November 14 for an extraordinary evening at the New York Athletic Club. This year it is our honor to recognize three remarkable individuals, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro and 9/11 Day Co-Founders Jay Winuk and David Paine.

Each year at VOICES Always Remember Gala we recognize distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions in the years following 9/11. We are proud to announce VOICES 2024 Leadership and Legacy honorees!

Jimmy Pitaro will be recognized with VOICES 2024 Leadership Award. Jimmy was named ESPN Chairman in February 2023, responsible for full operational control and financial responsibility for ESPN, one of the three core business segments of The Walt Disney Company.
 
While President at ESPN, Pitaro committed the organization’s time and resources to transform The Comeback Season exhibit at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum into an inspiring TV Special highlighting the impact of sports in helping to heal the nation. To learn more, click here.

Jay Winuk and David Paine will be recognized with VOICES 2024 Legacy Award. On September 11, 2001, Jay’s brother Glenn J. Winuk, an attorney, volunteer firefighter and EMT, was killed in the line of duty at the World Trade Center. Inspired by his brother’s devotion to community service and courageous actions, Jay Winuk joined David Paine in 2002 as co-founder in helping to build the 9/11 Day Observance initiative. Together, they have become passionate advocates for volunteering and national service. To learn more, click here.

Actor, Singer, and Broadway Staple
 
A highlight of the evening will be a musical performance by Broadway star, Julie Reiber. Julie will perform a medley of songs from Come From Away, the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland after the attacks on 9/11 and were welcomed by the townspeople. Julie is a Broadway staple having performed in seven Broadway shows.
