Each year at VOICES Always Remember Gala we recognize distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions in the years following 9/11. We are very proud to announce VOICES 2024 Leadership and Legacy honorees!

2024 Leadership Honoree
VOICES 2024 Leadership Honoree is Jimmy Pitaro, ESPN Chairman. Jimmy was named Chairman in February 2023, and is responsible for full operational control and financial responsibility for ESPN, one of the three core business segments of The Walt Disney Company.
He most recently served as Chairman, ESPN and Sports Content, focusing on ESPN’s live sports programming, as well as sports news and original and non-scripted sports-related content, for The Walt Disney Company’s cable channels, ESPN+, and ABC.
While President, he committed ESPN’s time and resources to transform The Comeback Season exhibit at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum into an inspiring TV Special highlighting the impact of sports in helping to heal the nation. Learn more.
2024 Legacy Honorees
VOICES 2024 Legacy Honorees are Jay Winuk and David Paine, Co-Founders of 9/11 Day. On September 11, 2001, Jay Winuk’s brother Glenn, an attorney, volunteer firefighter and EMT, was killed in the line of duty at the World Trade Center. Learn more.
Inspired by his brother’s devotion to community service and courageous actions, Jay joined David Paine in 2002 to redefine 9/11 as a day of doing good. Together, they transformed September 11 into the largest day of service in America, officially recognized under federal law. Learn more.
In 2024 they expect to pack more than eight million meals for people in need across America in observance of the 9/11 National Day of Service.
Musical Performance
We are excited to announce that Julie Reiber will provide a musical performance. Julie will perform a medley of songs from Come From Away, the remarkable true story of 7,000 passengers who after the attacks on 9/11 were stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland and welcomed by the townspeople.
Julie is a Broadway staple having performed in seven Broadway shows.Most recently Julie starred as Mary Jane Healy in the Tony and Grammy winning hit musical Jagged Little Pill. Prior to that she closed the hit show Come From Away on Broadway, performing as Beverley Bass in the CFA concert at The Lincoln Memorial honoring the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
Best known for playing the iconic green girl Elphaba in Wicked (Broadway, L.A.). She was a soloist for NBC’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting and continues to sing with orchestras around the world. Learn more.

Follow I-95S (which becomes the Cross Bronx Expressway) to Henry Hudson Parkway South. Exity Henry Hudson Parkway South at 56th Street. Stay on 56th Street to 8th Avenue. Make a left on 8th Avenue and proceed north. For the main entrance: turn right on 59th Street (Central Park South). The NYAC is located on the right just after 7th Avenue.

From Newark Airport, New Jersey
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to the Lincoln Tunnel. Exit from the Lincoln Tunnel bearing left. At the first traffic light (40th Street), turn right. At 8th Avenue, turn left and proceed north.
For the main entrance: turn right on 59th Street (Central Park South). The NYAC is located on the right just after 7th Avenue. For parking: turn right on 58th Street Parking garages are located on 58th Street just before and just after 7th Avenue. From John F. Kennedy Airport
Take the Van Wyck Expressway to Grand Central Parkway West. Continue on the Grand Central Parkway to the Triboro Bridge. After crossing the Bridge, bear right (Manhattan) to the FDR Drive South. Proceed south on the FDR to 63rd Street. From 63rd Street, turn left onto 2nd Avenue, proceeding south. At 57th Street, turn right and proceed to 8th Avenue. Turn right on 8th Avenue.
