I attended the memorial service for Calixto (Charlie) back in Nov. 2001. I am a member of the Vancouver Fire Dept. in Canada and was deeply touched by the strength of his wife and family. I will never forget the sacrifice that Charlie and his brothers made that day. My thoughts and prayer are with his family now and forever. Ooh-rah!

I have very fond memories of Charlie during our years in high school. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great guy. I will never forget.

After the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I saw an Instagram post of someone running a mile for each life lost. I was inspired and so now I am hiking a mile to honor the lives lost on that day, a day to never forget and lives to never forget.

On 11/2/2026, I hiked a mile in honor of Calixto “Charlie” Anaya Jr.

Thank you Charlie for your service and courage in the USMC and the FDNY. Thank you Charlie for making the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect your fellow human beings.

God bless Charlie and his loved ones.
