After the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I saw an Instagram post of someone running a mile for each life lost. I was inspired and so now I am hiking a mile to honor the lives lost on that day, a day to never forget and lives to never forget.

On 10/25/2026, I hiked a mile in honor of Edward L. Allegretto.

I read in Edward’s obituary that "He'd rather make a joke than get mad at anyone," Mrs. Simone said. "He said he couldn't waste his time on that." I think that’s so admirable.
