Ed was a great guy. He was my neighbor and best friend growing up. We remained friends for many years after he moved away. He was a joy to around. I hope the recent events will bring some closure to his family.

After years of not seeing each other, Ed and I reconnected in the years just before the attacks. We shared a love for motorcycles - his BMWs and my Harleys - and membership in a particular spiritual fellowship. At our last meeting together, we both reached in our pockets for a dollar to drop in the basket and came up with identical packets of bills wrapped in identical rubber bands - the lazy man's wallet! We shared a quiet laugh. It was a silly moment, but has become a sweet memory I can carry of a good man taken too soon. Sláinte, Eddie! Ride in Peace.
