Biography:

Before 9/11, Donald Gavagan Jr. had moved to Montauk and was looking to buy a boat, a 31-foot Chris Craft Commander. Gavagan, 35, a Cantor Fitzgerald bond broker, had given his old boat to his dad, Donald Sr., and his brother, Joseph. A wooden tugboat, purchased in Montauk, lays at Gavagan’s site in the circle. “Montauk was his special place,” said his dad. “He loved the water. He loved to fish.”
