After the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I saw an Instagram post of someone running a mile for each life lost. I was inspired and so now I am hiking a mile to honor the lives lost on that day, a day to never forget and lives to never forget.

On 10/27/2026, I hiked a mile in honor of Anna Williams Allison.

I read her obituary and her outlook on life is inspiring to me. Mrs. Allison was an independent, spirited adventurer, who loved to travel, Mr. Allison said. "Every day was a new opportunity for her," Mr. Allison said. "Because there were new opportunities, there was always hope of doing something good. That's the way she lived her life."
