Patrick S. Aielli of New York City, N.Y., died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He was 61 years old.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Chatham, N.J. Interment is at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison, N.J. Visitation is on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison.

Mr. Aielli was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived for the past 40 years in New York City.

He was a teacher for the civil service unit of the human resources department of the New York City Education Department for many years before his retirement last year.

Mr. Aielli was a graduate of Rutgers University and attended culinary school. He was also a musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.

Mr. Aielli was predeceased by his father, Salvatore Aielli, and his sister, Mary Aielli. He is survived by his mother, Mary (nee Tomeo) Aielli; his siblings, Joseph S. Aielli and his wife, Catherine, Carole A. Breheny and her husband, Patrick, and Donald Aielli; six nieces and nephews, and seven great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in his memory would be appreciated.
