Staten Island victims of 9/11.

Spirit of 9/11 is a sculpture by artist Gregory Perillo. It was inspired by soccer, softball, and basketball coach Lt. Charles Joseph Margiotta, a firefighter who was killed on September 11th. The sculpture captures the bond formed through sports between a father and his children. In the background, metal symbolizes the wreckage of the World Trade Center buildings, with the names of affected organizations printed on, including FDNY, NYPD, EMS, and PAPD.
