About This Site

The Voices of September 11th site is dedicated to providing information and resources for those who want to learn more about providing long-term assistance to families and communities impacted by tragedy.  Since its inception, this site has been an important resource for the 9/11 community.  With the launch of the new website in 2014, the content has been expanded to include information that is relevant to those wishing to assist those impacted by other acts of mass violence and tragedies.

The website includes a collection of photos and stories that comprise the VOICES 9/11 Memorial.  The 70,000 items in the collection commemorate the lives of the almost 3,000 people lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001.  It is a key component of the In Memoriam exhibit at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City.

Since 2001, our social work staff has worked closely with those impacted by mass violence.  They have developed programs and identified resources that address the evolving needs of victims’ families, responders and survivors.  The site includes information about resources offered by Voices of September 11th as well as other service providers. Information on the website about services offered by these providers is accurate to the best of our knowledge.
