A Brooklyn-born New York City Police Department lieutenant who worked at Ground Zero for four months died after a 16-month battle with lung cancer she contracted while working at the 9/11 site. Marci Simms of Kensington 'succumbed to her illness' on Thursday at her home on Long Island. More.
