Seventeen family members of people killed in the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center attacks are appealing a court decision that ultimately will decide where unidentified victims' remains will rest.
The research by three New Canaan High School students into Fairfield County residents' responses after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, will be presented at a symposium sponsored by Voices of September 11th at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at New Canaan Library.
The National September 11 Memorial and Museum filed court papers this week seeking to dismiss a federal lawsuit brought by a group of atheists who oppose the museum's decision to display the giant cross-shaped steel beam that became a site of daily prayer during the cleanup of ground zero.
