Declaring that Sept. 11 is a day for reflection, and not for politics, New York has decided to delay this year’s state and local primary election for two days.
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed legislation on Monday moving the state primary to Thursday, Sept. 13, from Tuesday, Sept. 11. Lawmakers said the move was out of respect for those who will attend memorial services to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. More.
