Sheri Burkat, LSW
Sheri Burkat joined VOICES in November, 2010 and manages the New Brunswick, NJ office. As a licensed social worker, Sheri provides direct services and community outreach programs for 9/11 families, first responders and survivors, including in-person support groups, teleconference groups and Living Memorial workshops.
As part of the outreach team, she provides information to responders and survivors who qualify about medical and mental health services available through the World Trade Center Health Program. Sheri coordinates our New Jersey Internship Program and supervises students from the Rutgers University School of Social Work participating in the program.
In January 2014, Sheri was the Project Manager for the VOICES Center of Excellence for Community Resilience Symposium held at Rutgers University, “Promoting Resiliency in Communities Impacted by Trauma.”
